Safeguard Engineering Ltd is proud to share the news that we have today received the Bronze Award from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS). This recognises commitment and support from UK employers for defence personnel and it highlights our ongoing commitment to the employment of defence personnel.

The scheme encompasses Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the armed forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.

As a valued defence contractor, Safeguard Engineering Ltd has long recognised the merit of employing ex-forces personnel who bring hands on experience of working in key technical areas.  Our team comprises 25 specialist safety engineering and environmental consultants including ex-RN, RFA, Army and RAF, many of whom still serve in the Reserve Armed Forces, and their expertise is invaluable to our defence projects.

Commenting on the Award Director Steve Vickery said:

“After spending 22 years in the Royal Navy I understand the importance of helping individuals make the transition from a career in the armed forces to a second career with us in safety and environmental consultancy.  We will always look to support our armed forces and to recognise the talent and expertise that such individuals can bring to their new role.  The Defence ERS fulfils an important role in encouraging the private sector to support defence and we are proud to be a part of this.”
