Safeguard Engineering is delighted to kick off the New Year by welcoming David Pearson to our Bristol team as a Principal Consultant.
David has 13 years experience as a Principal Marine Engineer in design consultancy and project management within multi-disciplinary teams. His career spans naval submarine and surface ship design, in-service support, energy-saving technologies, future fuels, and autonomous systems in both commercial and defence sectors.
Throughout his career, David has been at the forefront of innovation. He has led the modelling of zero-carbon transport technologies and future fuel development for surface vessels, publishing several papers and articles promoting this pioneering work. His technical expertise covers the design and integration of a wide range of marine auxiliary and propulsion systems – spanning large vessels, small high-performance craft, and autonomous platforms. As a technical lead and project manager, David has delivered design packages for surface and sub-surface vessels, combining structural and mechanical elements through to detailed design.
As a Chartered Engineer, David brings with him a meticulous approach and passion for advancing marine engineering. Outside of work, he’s an avid motorcyclist, sailor, and skier, although these hobbies are temporarily on hold following his most exciting recent milestone – becoming a father!
We’re excited to have David on board and look forward to the expertise and energy he’ll bring to our growing team. Welcome to Safeguard Engineering David!
