Congratulations to our Senior Engineer & Maritime Overseer Steve Partridge who has recently graduated from Portsmouth University with a Masters Degree in Engineering & Management.  He balanced the demands of a busy job with an equally demanding MSc degree course and, of course, delivered on both.

Steve studied from home using the university’s ‘Learning at Work’ course which enabled him to study alongside a full-time job, developing and enhancing his engineering and management competencies.  At Safeguard, Steve is kept busy in his role as a Maritime Overseer and a key member of the team working on the 7 year framework agreement awarded to Safeguard Engineering in February. He is based in the North West but covers Royal Navy in-service and new acquisition boats in the Merseyside, North Wales and South Shields areas as well as RFA Ships in Birkenhead.

Commenting on his Masters Degree Steve said:

“It was extremely challenging balancing a full time job with the hours of study required and it meant committing to long hours during evenings and weekends to do my research, but I can honestly say it has been worth it and I am very proud to have achieved an MSc.

I am looking forward to utilising the new skills and learning I have gained to further enhance my performance in my role as a Senior Engineer and Maritime Overseer with Safeguard. I would also like to say a big thank you to the Directors at Safeguard for their support throughout my MSc journey”

Steve Beech, Director at Safeguard added:

“At Safeguard we encourage and support all our team with their continuous professional development and are delighted for Steve that he has completed his Masters. He has a key role within the Maritime Overseer Support (MOS) work and is a valued member of our team.”
