Safeguard Engineering were delighted to attended last week’s Big Breakfast at RNAS Culdrose.

The Big Breakfast, hosted by The Veterans Charity, was attended by over 150 Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force Veterans, from all over Cornwall. The event enables the attendees to connect and engage with vital services including the Department of Work and Pensions, NHS doctors and other crucial charities that might be of assistance to them in their life after service.

During his address to guests, the Captain of RNAS Culdrose also explained how the event is a social lifeline for many who have left the Armed Forces and no longer have contact with their Shipmates from their time in service. The big breakfast gives attendees an opportunity to reconnect with their peers whilst enjoying a breakfast roll and cup of tea!

Safeguard Engineering are proud supporters of the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) and we’re delighted to support events such the Big Breakfast for Veterans. Many of our engineers have come from an Armed Forces or Civil Service background as we recognise the high calibre of these individuals and value the experience they can bring. And as a former home to several of our team, we were especially pleased to support this event at RNAS Culdrose.

As a result of the success of the Big Breakfast, it’s hoped that this will be made a quarterly event!
