We’re incredibly pleased to have recently welcomed Rhys Evans to Safeguard Engineering.

Rhys joins us as a Safety Consultant, with 12-years’ experience in the British Army as an Ammunition Technician (AT), working in explosive safety. Throughout his career, Rhys has held a variety of roles from explosives processing and in-service support with DE&S, explosives ordnance disposal (EOD) as a part of UK Defence operations, explosives safety auditing, and most recently as the Naval liaison AT through Headquarters Commando Forces (HQCF).

These roles has seen Rhys deployed globally to conduct explosive licensing and inspections, monitoring and reporting on guided weapons use, and ensuring safety is paramount throughout explosive activity, despite tight deadlines in high risk environments.

Rhys is excited to get started at Safeguard Engineering and to further develop his professional competencies within safety. As a member of the Institute of Explosive Engineers (IExpE), Rhys is looking forward to achieving his Engineering Technician (EngTech) accreditation, with further levels of accreditation in sight.

Outside of work Rhys enjoys travelling and is an avid skier. He’s also recently taken up gardening following some negative reviews of my lawn from his partner, her dog and his two cats.

Welcome to the team Rhys!
